Following guidance from the AAOS and AHA, the ADA has provided updated recommendations regarding Premedication prior to dental procedures. As a result of these 2021 recommendations, CVDC will no longer be dispensing pre-medication for our patients.
If your doctor recommends that you pre-medicate for dental treatment, please bring a copy of the order indicating what they are prescribing and how long you are to be taking the premedication as well as a copy of the prescription that they have written for you so that we may keep this in your file.
Once we have this information in your file and the initial prescription from your surgeon has been filled, CVDC will be able to send a Pre-Med prescription to the pharmacy of your choice. If you are required to pre-medicate for your dental treatment and forget to take the medication, we may need to reschedule your appointment. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we transition to these new recommendations.
